I AM NOT MOTIVATED BY THE SAME THING AS YOU…
A POEM BY: FRIEDA LOPEZ
I am not motivated by the same things as you. Through the inconsistency of false promise that leaves the heart to go un-mend. The soulless attempts to bend and undo, masked by denial of desperate fear that a spirit never descends.
Temporary relief of over-glorified fame and fortune that once possessed, the soul never finds peace. It is attained through insecurity, masquerading sadness through superior inferiority from a life on a lease.
Controlled in simulation through the toleration of capitalism, in denial and suppression, we turn our backs. Those motivated through the indulgent desire blinding the needs through wants to ignore the call of what the heart lacks.
I am not motivated by the same things as you because I refuse to forfeit my soul to society’s sales shelf. I am now powered through self-efficacy, motivated by the humbling power to find and discover myself.
