CHANGE IS THE ART OF ADAPTATION
A POEM BY: FRIEDA LOPEZ
Change is the art of adaptation through a world, a reality that we live that begins to go stagnant.
History repeats through the haunting of ancient curses, hope becomes a relic; fossilized in fragments.
Fear blinds the heart through centuries of oppression, an influence cast by a petrified heart.
Through stubborn pride and obedient will, forgetting the innocence of fighting spirits unwilling to restart.
The apocalyptic horses begin to pound in a burning world that lost sight, forgetting the dawn of a brighter day.
Imprisoned by the marks of damnation influenced by the common – fearful and in dread by paralyzing dismay.
Change is much needed as evil evolves into wolves that frolic in the clothing of comfort and of sheep.
Catheterizing the soul of spirituality and hope, herded into tragedy turned manipulative fantasy with a delightful heap.
Change becomes the art of adaptation through the grief of the lyrics from a hopeful and sorrowful hymn.
History repeating yet again, learning from mistakes and experience of defeat; now a wish for early change from our most troubled of time.
